A note for international patients

Travel comes after the consultation. Never before.

No patient should travel to Paris before a full review of their medical file. The teleconsultation comes first — thirty minutes, in English or French, with the surgeon directly. The decision to operate, the procedure, the timing — all are discussed before any flight is booked.

Once the indication is confirmed, the office issues a written treatment plan, a personalised quote, and — where needed — a visa support letter and embassy correspondence. The logistical pathway is described in detail in the downloadable guide below.

Dr Zeitoun — editorial interview

Why Paris

The pedigree of the French cancer school.

France ranks among the world's leading countries for breast and gynaecological cancer outcomes. The French five-year survival rate for breast cancer is 88%, comparable to the United Kingdom and the United States.

Paris hosts three of the country's leading cancer institutes — Institut Gustave Roussy (the largest cancer centre in Europe), Institut Curie (the world's first dedicated breast cancer institute), and the Centre François Baclesse. Dr Zeitoun trained or practised in all three.

The approach

Three things that do not change.

Every international patient is received with the same protocol, regardless of complexity, geography or sponsor. These three principles are non-negotiable.

i.
The same surgeon, every time.
The surgeon who reads your file is the surgeon who operates, and the surgeon who follows you afterwards. No rotation, no delegation.
ii.
Always in writing.
Every consultation produces a written summary in English. Every quote is issued in writing within 72 hours. Every correspondence with your referring physician is documented. Nothing is verbal.
iii.
Discretion is the default.
By-appointment-only cabinet · separate-entrance arrival on request · name-coded admissions · accredited interpreters · HDS-certified medical files under French medical secrecy. No exceptions.

Questions answered

What international patients ask first.

Can I get a second opinion without travelling to Paris?

Yes. A second opinion can be given remotely by secure video teleconsultation, in English or French, once your medical file has been reviewed. Travel to Paris is considered only if and when surgery is indicated — never before.

Do I need to speak French to be treated in Paris?

No. Consultations are held in English or French, directly with the surgeon. Accredited medical interpreters can be arranged for other languages, including Arabic.

Which medical records should I send before the teleconsultation?

Your recent imaging — mammography, ultrasound, MRI — with the written reports; any biopsy or pathology results; recent blood tests; and the referral letter from your physician. Documents are received on HDS-certified, encrypted infrastructure under French medical secrecy.

How quickly will I receive a treatment plan and a quote?

The office replies to every message within one working day. After the teleconsultation, a written treatment plan and a personalised quote are issued within 72 hours, in English.

How much does breast or gynaecological surgery cost?

Dr Zeitoun practises in secteur 2 (private fees). No price is published before a consultation: a personalised written quote is issued only after the medical file has been reviewed and the surgical indication confirmed.

Can the office help with a visa, a sponsor, or an embassy letter?

Yes. Once the indication is confirmed, the office issues visa support letters and handles correspondence with embassies and sponsors — including government-funded pathways for patients from the Gulf region.

Where do the consultation and the surgery take place?

Consultations are held at the Paris 8e practice, 241 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Surgery is performed at Clinique Hartmann in Neuilly-sur-Seine, within the Institut du Sein Henri Hartmann.

How is my privacy protected?

All correspondence is held under French medical secrecy (art. L1110-4 CSP) on HDS-certified infrastructure. The cabinet is by appointment only, with name-coded admissions and separate-entrance arrival on request.
