Deep contraceptive implants
Some subcutaneous implants placed in the arm migrate deep and can no longer be removed in the consultation room. When the implant is embedded — encased in the fascia or near neurovascular structures — Dr Zeitoun performs its removal in the operating theatre, under local anaesthesia, following X-ray and ultrasound imaging of the arm to precisely map its position.
X-ray + arm ultrasound — systematic imaging to locate the implant precisely before any surgical procedure.
Removal under local anaesthesia in the operating theatre — 10-minute procedure with careful dissection, preservation of nervous and vascular elements.
Day surgery — return home the same day. Return to everyday activities within a few days.

When hysterectomy is considered

For certain benign uterine conditions — symptomatic fibroids, adenomyosis, refractory menorrhagia — hysterectomy may be offered when conservative treatments are not sufficient. It is never an automatic decision: several uterus-preserving alternatives exist and must be discussed.

  • Vaginal, laparoscopic or abdominal approach: personalized choice
  • Total or subtotal: which part of the uterus to remove?
  • What about the tubes and ovaries?
  • Alternatives: myomectomy, embolization, endometrial ablation, Mirena

Vaginal No scar
Laparoscopy Minimally invasive
